Vaduz → Montreux

A shorter stage, 15.9 km, and a destination worth the trip: the Urner Boden, one of the largest alpine pastures in Switzerland. It already belongs to the canton of Uri: you're in Uri before you've even crossed the Klausenpass! In the damp meadows, look out for the yellow balls of the globeflower: tiny insects crawl inside to feed.

Montreux → Vaduz

You leave the Urner Boden and head down to Linthal: 4 h 30 min of walking, an almost restful day. You change canton on the way: the Urner Boden, east of the Klausenpass, belongs to Uri, and Linthal to Glarus. Remember to wave to the border as you pass. In the damp meadows, the globeflower keeps its yellow sepals closed in a ball.
